So, remember when Anna and the French Kiss came out and everyone raved and raved and raved about it? I read it, and I loved it, but there were a few (little) things that tainted the book for me.
This one (in my mind) did EVERYTHING right.
LOVED everything about it.
LOVED Cricket.
LOVED the ending.
LOVED the setting.
LOVED the unique and quirky characters.
The first kiss knocked my socks off and I immediately re-read the last two chapters when I finished.
I NEVER do that.
I also forced myself to read this one slow, and I almost never do that either.
I LOVED the premise of this book - Indigo's ex-boyfriend wrote a song about her that made it big, and now she's trying to hide from the image of her portrayed in the song while wading through high school.
This book just fell short for me, which is sad because it could have been awesome.
FYI - you cannot put TWO teens who don't immediately check voicemail and texts opposite each other in the same book. I don't believe you.
I DID love this author's other book - Pure Red, so I'll read more from her.
If I sat down and really dug into this book, I'd probably find loads of little annoying, almost unbelievable things, but it was too cute for words and a nice short read.
Also - insecure girl and football guys was just a FUN mix.
And I'm making this statement for both this book and for Lola - WHY can't publishers put the people on the cover to look as quirky as they do in the story??
Kelley Vitollo turned me on to this book.
I blazed through it. There was some GREAT sexual tension and SUPER FUN ENDING.
So - if you're looking for a sexy, fun, YA read - this is your book.
I forgot that I'd read this book recently, which is probably a bad sign, and also sort of ironic given the title.
I think this cover is awesome.
This was an interesting story that was a lot of fun.
I WISH this end was tied up just a TEENY bit more, even though - yeah, I knew the direction her life was about to take. Not fabulous, but really, really good.
I have a fun little story to share with this book -
I was on twitter and complained that I wanted both this book and Dessen's new book, but they were SO expensive in hardback and the author sent me a tweet -
Send me your addy and I'll mail it tomorrow.
AND. SHE. DID.
I have a signed copy that I devoured in two nights.
I used Romeo and Juliet in a book (that may or may not be part of some news I can share soon) and it was just fun to see this author's take on the story.
This book was equal parts nail-biting action and swoon-worthy moments.
SO - what have YOU read lately??
Wanna share??
OR - want to share what you're MOST looking forward to out of your TBR pile?

INDIGO BLUES sounds like exactly the same plot as AUDREY, WAIT! Which one came first, I wonder?? LOLA sounds like a great read! Adding it to my TBR. In fact, a lot of these sound great!!
What I've read lately is a Point book I first read at age 10 or something, and then STRING BRIDGE by Jessica Bell. Currently I'm reading PRISON NATION by Jenni Merritt :)
I so need to read something by Stephanie Perkins. I keep hearing how good her books are. I love the story about Juliet Immortal. It makes me want to buy they book just because she sounds awesome. Why can't all ebooks be .99?
All of the ones above are on my TBR list. I just checked out The Summer I Turned Pretty from the library so I want to read that one this week and I also got Saving June by Hannah Harrington that looks right up my ally of kinds of books I like. I'm rereading The Book Thief right now for book club and liking it just as much the 2nd time as I did the first.
Looks like there's some more to add to my TBR list! :)
The cover of Juliet Immortal looks so spectacular. I really want to read that based on the cover along (no idea what it's about). I read Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac not too long ago and barely remember it. Ironic.
*alone* not along :)
Sadly I haven't read any of these! But I have heard a lot of great things about Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door. I want to check those out.
And that's so cool the author sent you the book! Wow I wish that would happen to me haha. I've heard of that book, Juliet Immortal, but haven't checked it out yet. Love the cover, though.
LOVE Lola! And I've been meaning to start reading Jennifer Echols' books. She has a ton of them and they all sound so cute!
How cool that Stacey Jay sent you a signed copy of her book! I've had my eye on that one. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
I think the book I've loved the most recently is Past Perfect by Leila Sales. It's PRECIOUS and I've been telling everyone about it. **scampers off to write blog post about it**
Juliet Immortal looks AMAZING! I've been dying to read Lola as well. And I always love a good football insecure girl story. ;)
She just sent it to you?! That is so awesome. I'll have to pick up Stacey's book, just because she's cool. ;)
I've heard really good things about Lola and the Boy Next Door. I would really like to read that one. I've had some pretty good beta reads, but I'm slacking on everything else. *sigh* I am reading an interesting book right now, but I have to finish it before I know for sure. I will tell you then :)
I just finished reading an ARC Extra Normal and it was so fun and cute.
I will have to add Juliet Immortal to my TBR and I'm so behind on the French Kiss books.
The cover for Juliet Immortal is really freaking gorgeous. It makes me want to read the book immediately.
You already know what I've read recently and how much I loved it (I hope your copy arrives soon!)...
Gaaaaah... I have SO much on my list... These all look amazing. Lately, I don't read a book unless someone tells me to read it... it's what it's come down to! LOL.
I couldn't get past the second button on the first boy's shirt. Is it missing or what?
But that line on the last book grabbed me. "The greatest love story ever told is a lie." I KNEW IT! From what you know of my tastes, do you think I'd like Juliet Immortal? (It's not really a test, but feel free to think it is.)
I just started reading Emma today.
They all look so good! Last night I read The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, and I LOVED it!! Quick read, but soooo cute and swoony adorable.
Just doing a comment check thingy
Juliet Immortal sounds good. I am secretly looking forward to reading the second and third books in the Lying Game series. I am really really dying to read the latest by Haruki Murakami, IQ84. He is a master.
Wow, you've read a lot of books lately! I am slugging through my list, mostly because I'm just too sleepy lately to read.
I read LOLA in December and loved it, but I think I still liked ANNA better. I'm on the fence.
I also just finished SHATTER ME, which was amazing. Talk about some excellent world building.
Now I'm getting ready to start THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. Been looking forward to this one.
Some great sounding books here. I've just started Popular by Alissa Grosso.
