(aside from the kids)
Yep.
BOOKS!!!
This book is AWESOME - and almost impossible to find, but I really learned the importance of stomping loud.
I cannot express how much I adore Fancy Nancy.
Some days, life is just better with a tiara.
How awesome is it that Mo Willems made a character that a FIVE YEAR OLD CAN DRAW!!
My daughter came home from kindergarten with her VERY OWN picture of the pigeon.
"should be very educational..."
Sendak - you will be missed.
I LOVE that my kids loved this book as much as I loved this book as a kid.
It's memorized.
Probably forever.
And I still can't read it enough.
"The night Max wore his wolf suit, and made mischief of one kind..."
Favorite books AND favorite kids' show EVER.
Lola taught me that everyone needs red shiny shoes, and it's the best brother and sister show I've EVER seen. LOVE. Also. As soon as someone from that show realizes they could make a fortune designing fabric, I'm going to be the first in line to buy it.
Also - it makes Mike and I do really nauseating things like say - "You're my favorite and my best."
BEST read aloud EVER.
Though... the frantic screaming isn't all that conducive to sleepy-time...
So. I know this is random, but I don't blog about my kiddos often, and we were talking about favorite books, so this is a random post dedicated to my little peeps - Emma and Jack.
(They now think they're famous - but I added a picture to make sure. Jack is always goofy, Emma is almost always sweet)
What are your favorite kids' books?
because I KNOW I'm going to do a lot of forehead slapping as I read your comments...

My kids have adopted MY childhood fav's as their own.
Mickey and the Haunted House,
Go Dog Go (Finn randomly tells me daily, "do you like my hat? I do not! Good-bye, Good-bye!)
The Very Worst Monster
Never Talk to Stangers and
Tasha Tudor's The Bedtime Book.
I actually had to consult the blog post I did on this a year or two ago because I couldn't remember them, lol.
Gorgeous family pic! Your daughter is your mini. :)
FANCY NANCY!!! I love those books! All 3 of my nieces have had Fancy Nancy birthday parties. The dress ups were...epic!
I loved Where The Wild Things Are and am sad the author passed away. Max will still live on though.
My son loves Sesame Street Books, Good Night Moon, and Martina the Beautiful Cockroach--a very awesome fun book.
He's only 15 months, but he wants to read every single book he owns first thing when he wakes up. I keep his books on his level so he can get to them any time he wants them. We also do reading every night.
What my son liked?
Anything Dr. Suess
The Robert Munsch Books
Made Up Stories (as in, on-the-spot made up)
Goosebumps
Llama llama rates up there.
I love: Tiger Can't Sleep, Click Clack Moo, Cows that Type and Momma, Will you?
I was/am in love with THIS book! I still have a copy of it, in fact. The artwork is so gorgeous and I love the story.
Also, not quite 'little kid' books, but I loooved all the MOUSE AND THE MOTORCYCLE and BUNNICULA books.
Hmm...
Anything by Sandra Boyton.
The Gossie and Gertie books
Fancy Nancy
Junie B. Jones
Brandon Mulls books
and of course HARRY POTTER!
First-LOVE Charlie and Lola. My hubby and I like that show more than the kids I think.
My kids love Dr. Suess, and Curious George. And anything with Dinosaurs.
We are going to read and watch Where the Wild Things Are this weekend.
My daughter loved the Disney stories but she always had me read - or her read - Counting Kisses, The Kissing Hand, Goodnight, Mouse and anything Dr. Seuss. She also loved Olivia and Max and Ruby. Of course, Dora, Diego and Backyardigans were a TV staple so anytime we found a book about them, she had to read it.
My boys love, love, love Piggie Pie. It mashes together a whole lot of well-known nursery rhymes and a silly story about a pig-eating witch. The syntax is perfection, it's genuinely funny, and the boys just adore it.
PS- I do NOT mean Piggie Pie Po. That book is, surprisingly, unrelated to this one. And not that great, either.
Your little peeps are adorable.
My kids' favorite was "The Little Monsters Bedtime Book"
Great post idea.
Sandra Boynton (Moo Baa La La La, Pajama Time) for the littlest guys.
Felicia Numeroff (If You Give a Mouse a Cookie) for the preschoolers.
Too many to chose for the early elementary years - Magic Tree House and Junie B Jones were new favorites.
Jerry Spinelli (Stargirl) and J.K. Rowling (uh, Harry!) for the later elementary and middle school years.
I could probably list hundreds, but these came to mind first.
