Sheesh Already... (and a giveaway)

CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED!!!!!!!
CONGRATS TO ROXANNE AND JEN - RANDOM.ORG PICKED YOU!!!!!
I'LL BE IN TOUCH...
I KNOW.
More Jolene releases, but what's happened is that I've done a few collabs, and I've been working on projects that I finished a LONG time ago.
SO...

So. I was going to do a random post and then say at the bottom - BTW - Falling is out. And that seemed weird since I'd have to do the same thing on Wednesday with All I Want.

I'm just going to get them both out at once, and instead of giving you big long explanations of each, I'm just gonna share part of a scene from each.

ALL I WANT
Pretty Near Perfect is my short story contribution to this book :-D And this is a short sample from chapter one...

As I round the corner into the dining room, my body slams into someone. I jerk away, but my hands are still on his chest.
Unfamiliar eyes look down on me under a set of thick lashes and dark, curly hair.
“I’m so sorry,” he says. “I didn’t see you.”
“I get that a lot.” I smirk. “My lack of height and all.” And then I realize that my hands are still on his chest, right at eye level. I stare at them for a moment, almost like I’m puzzled that they’re still there, and instead of jerking them away, like I probably should, they slide down over abs that are a lot harder than I’d guess for being under a conservative grey sweater.
He smiles back, an unassuming, smile of nearly even, white teeth. “Well, it could also be my fault, you know. Maybe I’m so tall I can’t see what’s going on around me.”
Nice.
Tingle-in-my-stomach worthy. Kind eyes. Very nice. Looks like a messy-professor type. And his tall lankiness just adds to the whole package of awkward-adorable man. If there is such a category. Also, he’s the opposite of the stocky boys that belong in this house, making me wonder where he comes from. Now I have to wonder how I went from dreading being here to flirtation?
Oh, wait. Hands. I jerk mine away, feeling a bit like I was just totally feeling up some guy I’ve never met.

FALLING

And THIS is a short excerpt from Falling. I picked one that was a little sweeter than most of the book, but I love being in Jason's head...

I wave my brother off, and slide my hands underneath Dana, slowly picking her up. The moment she’s in my arms, I realize what a dangerous mistake this is. Also, all of the guys lifting girls and running with them is bullshit. She’s tiny, but is still heavy, and I have a long ways to go.
Also, she feels way too damn good here for me to maintain my sanity. She sighs as I shift, and rolls her head against my chest. Instead of doing the smart thing and pretending it’s just anyone, I soak up the moment as I walk up the stairs. She has the palest freckles that I haven’t noticed before, and a tiny scar near her hairline. I want to know if she got teased about her freckles, and where the scar came from. I want to know about the guy who was stupid enough to break her heart, and why her brother and dad stress her out so much. I want to know all of it, and none of these things are things I should care about.
But we know this crap about friends, right. I know where all Boz’s scars come from. But I also would definitely not be turned on by him standing in a tanktop in a drafty doorway—so there’s that.

SO. Tell me what you're working on for a chance to win an ebook of either Falling or All I Want - Your choice. And I'm picking two winners.

GO!

I am doing edits on my MG Fairytale and plotting out a MG journey book.

I have All I Want and that makes me super happy. Falling would be icing on the cake but if you wanna pick someone else (since I've already been a Jolene-Winner) that'd be alrighty with me as well.

:)

Falling is out already? Shoot, I just bought a bunch of awesome indies yesterday. Will have to showcase this one on next weeks STS meme. Congrats!

Only got one thing I'm working on now, and I think you know what that is. Shed some more weight. Down to 61,000 words. Could go a little more. But I know I should add a few things here and there too.

Want to finish in a few weeks.

And I'm hoping that I'll be querying when all these people query their 2012 NaNo projects which will not be sufficiently edited. Therefore making mine stand out ever more.

Well that's the plan at least.

I'm trying to finish edits on Sidewalks so I can go into NaNo without any dangling threads waiting for attention.

And thinking about the NaNo book, of course, which is something new for me: historical.

I wanna read both!!! Which would you suggest first? I'm working on school at the the moment. I've been so busy I've barely had any time to read any new releases

Can't wait for All I Want! I'm starting my Christmas reading for le blog this week too! Perfect timing ;)

I just got Scrivener {writing software} and I'm working on a little love story of my own. I'm only 3,500 words in and it isn't very good. But, I'm hoping that by writing out of order than will help me some. As long as the story gets out I can fix the rest. Here's hoping!

Ooh, I do love a new Jolene release!

Argh, today my novella is free on Kindle, so I have a bloghop going on and I'm working my butt off promoting it!

I'm reworking the beginning of the novel I'm querying. Plus working on the shiny new idea that as yet is nameless.

You should never say, "announcing another release", like it's a bad thing!
And I'm working on edits...feeling the edit blues and wishing I was writing something new. :)

Hey! yay! And wait... so FALLING is out now? I though that was an accident... Argh! I was going to do a big announcement on the 24th. Playing catchup.

And why has your blog dispapeared from my Google Reader??? very annoying.

Yay! Both of these sound FANTASTIC--and are on my TBR pile~ :o) <3

Oh man, both these excerpts are awesome. I can't wait to read these!

I'm just about to start writing the second book in my Capitoline Hill series (querying the first). I've also just started a short story anthology that I'm hoping to have done early next year.

Thanks for the giveaway and congrats on the releases!

Yay, free books! Thanks for hosting this great giveaway!

Just finished my dystopian novel, Shymers, and starting my first MS story for my 10-year-old son. I am breaking my promise not to write a vampire book, but it won't be a romantic story - more like the 80-90's fun but dangerous vamps. :)

Working on preparing for trial. Not nearly as exciting as writing fiction but it's true :)

My fingers are currently putting on paper the massive rewrite that you and I have talked about.

When my fingers aren't involved, my brain is also working on a YA contemporary.
